Thankyou so much to the three ladies who had a guess. You've made my morning. I love the fact that cucki and Shez know me well enough to guess things I've stitched in the past.
I won't tell you if anyone was right, until much closer to the end of the stitching, to draw out the competition a bit.
Today's hint: It is a living thing
And a BIG thankyou to the Stitching Post who have donated the voucher.
I had a look around their store and if I was spending the voucher I would choose;
A Little bit of Country as a patchwork project.
Keep guessing!

Guessing Competition
Can you guess what I'm stitching?
If you can you can win a $20 gift voucher from The Stitching Post
http://thestitchingpost.com.au/
They are not affiliated with me in any way, I just thought it would be great to have a voucher which can be used by both my cross stitching and my patchwork friends.
OK here are the rules;
GUESS WHAT I AM STITCHING
This photo shows you the shape of the stitching.
You can guess as many times as you like.
I will give new clues everyday.
The first correct guesser will get 10 entries, the next correct guess will get 8, next will get 6, and so on. Every correct guess gets one entry.
If you would like more entries, mention the competition on your blog, or another site (facebook, whatever) link back to this blog post and send me an email (jenni @ exemail.com.au ... without spaces) with the link.
The fabric giveaway is still also open. it will close at the end of the month (June 2013).
Good luck!

My Quilt in the Next Patchwork and Stitches
That's my Crinoline Lady Quilt on the front cover. She is one of the nicest quilts I've made I think.
Here is a shot of the full quilt I took this afternoon.
The crinoline lady is applique and so are the flower borders (apart from the button sewn in the middle). The hearts are also applique and the lattice is a pieced border. She is quite heavily quilted with a spiral design around the applique.
I can't wait to get her hung on my wall, though she's big enough to sit on the bed really.
The issue with pattern and instructions will be out soon.
And don't forget the fabric giveaway (see previous blog entry). There have only been a few entries so far, I'd love you to spread the word about it.
Thanks

Give away
Hello everyone. I guess I've been a bit quiet lately. I've been experimenting with creating my own fabrics using a few different mediums.
I have two fabrics to give away to followers.
Thanks for stopping by

I have two fabrics to give away to followers.
The fabrics have been washed after the colour was applied, so they should stay this vibrant with gentle hand washing. I have used a textile marker set and Inktense pencils. The designs are my originals and will not be repeated exactly. I have reused the butterfly shape in a dying experiment which I will show at a later date. Each fabric piece is signed.
Hair is 30cm x 23cm and the butterfly is 21cm x 26cm. They would look terrific made into journals, wall hangings, pillows, bags, whatever you can imagine.
The first name out of the hat can choose between the two fabrics and the second name gets the other one. To enter you must be a follower and leave a comment. For a second entry mention the give away on your blog and post a comment here with a link to your blog.
I've also been cross stitching a tiny bit. I made these dalek earrings for my Dr Who mad daughter.

What? Christmas already??
Well it is time to do Christmas projects if you want them to make it into the magazine later in the year. Projects need to be into the magazine around 6 months before publication, and then the magazine needs to get it out a little before Christmas.
So here is a pic of my messy WIP Christmas 2013 quilt.
Those of you who have known me a little while know that I have a small part time job at a day care centre to pay the bills until my designing work can support me ... well things aren't looking great at the centre. There are plans to bring in a trainee, who would cost half of what I do to pay per hour. That will mean my hours will be cut to virtually nothing (yeah so much for loyalty and the value of expertise!). What that means is, I have to find other work. I am looking around, but there isn't a lot of part time work in my area that I am qualified or experience enough to do.
I'm going to apply for an activity co-ordinator position which I think would suit me nicely. However, the fact that I think it will suit me, does not mean I'll get the job (sad but true LOL). It is more hours than I'm doing now which would mean I'd have to scale back the design work.
Well I'll keep you posted on what happens,
thanks for reading
